OUR CITY
Cuenca is a city of Arab origin considered "world heritage" that offers great cultural, natural, and scenic opportunities such as the museum of abstract art, the museum-foundation Antonio Perez of contemporary art, the museum of palaeontology, the museum of science, and many others. Almost all of them located in the old town with its medieval streets and famous "casas colgadas" (hanging houses). There are also numerous cultural organizations that host artistic and cultural events.
The city also boasts a significant university environment and excellent connectivity via high-speed train to Madrid and its airports, as well as to coastal areas like Valencia, Alicante, and Murcia, along with their respective airports.
The province is of extraordinary beauty, offering opportunities to visit notable sites such as the castle of Belmonte (year 1400), birthplace of the poet Fray Luis de León, the castle of Alarcón, the castle of Puerta de la Serranía in Priego, the castle of Garci Muñoz (where Jorge Manrique, the soldier and outstanding poet died), the kinetic and natural park of the mountain range of Cuenca, home of the renowned "enchanted city", with its peculiar torcas and lagoons...
